Firsts in second place

Cookley 1sts are maintaining their fine form and, at the mid-way point of the season, currently stand at second place in Division Two of the Worcestershire County League.

In their most recent game they romped to a convincing 49-run win over visitors Himley 2nds. 

The home side racked up a decent total of  253 thanks mainly to Paul Thomas’s second century of the season aided by 63 from captain Jamie Brighton.

Tight bowling by all the Cookley bowlers with Matt McCann’s 3-52 the pick restricted the visitors to 204-6 with Cookley returning 20 points from the victory. 

This Saturday the first team are again at home at Lea Lane with Bromsgrove the visitors,
